The End Is Just The Beginning | BEHOLD: I am doing a new thing
Episode 7 of our Winter Series
Because faith traditions go back hundreds and even thousands of years, it’s natural for us to think that when we engage our faith we are trying to go back. Back to a time when the faith was practiced well. Back to a era when more people believed. Back to a season when faith was alive.
We even have phrases like, ‘We need to get back into the Bible.’
But when we explore the Scriptures there is a subtle movement happening. God is pushing things forward. Yes, God often reminders people to remember where they came from and what God has done in their past. But not so they can go back. But so that they can launch forward. God is doing a new thing.

Due to the tragedies and continuing escalation of violence and terror in Minneapolis, caused by the increased presence of federal immigration and border agents, we took a detour from our series.
Amos 5 highlights both the frustration when the power of empire has become corrupt and the hope of God to bring a river of justice. Not a justice that wields a sword, but one that brings life.

Consider the Children | Rev Linda Koelman
Tuesday Jan 06, 2026
Tuesday Jan 06, 2026
Reverend Linda Koelman tackles one of the most difficult passages in the Bible, the killing of the young babies after the birth of Jesus.
Although heartbreaking and unpopular to talk about, as well as an easy passage to slip into political critique, Rev Linda doesn't shy away from the difficulties presented with this story.
Her humanity and her pastoral heart shine through!

Each of the four gospels frames Jesus in a particular way in it's beginning. Some do so with a birth narrative (Matthew and Luke). One does it without a birth narrative (Mark). And one does it with a beginning that is just different (John).
This Advent and Christmas season we are going to explore those beginnings. Why do the authors of the gospels begin their story the way they do? Why is Jesus portrayed the way he is? Why is the birth story told this way or that way or not at all?
